National Green & Inclusive Business study in Ghana

Large community dialogue circle in session during an SPI facilitated consultation

Real engagement, not stock imagery

We sit in the circle with the people the decision affects

Every mandate begins with structured listening — community dialogue circles, focus groups and stakeholder sessions that turn lived experience into evidence a board or ministry can act on.

See how we work

Who we are

A pillar of ideas that promote corporate, business and trade sustainability

We introduced corporate sustainability strategy through the Institute of Directors — Ghana, teamwork and consensus building through the national leadership of the Association of Small Scale Industries, and climate change and sustainable green entrepreneurship through Takoradi Technical University.

We serve as national consultants on Ghana's maiden Green and Inclusive Business landscape study and policy design work, in collaboration with the Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA) and GIZ.

Our methodology

Six steps from listening to lasting implementation

A participatory process that keeps stakeholders in the room from the first conversation to handover.

  1. Small focus group gathered around a table sharing lived experience
    1

    Discover

Listening sessions that surface real needs before any solution is proposed.

  2. Participants mapping local assets on paper spread across the floor
    2

    Research

Participatory evidence gathering with the people the work is meant to serve.

  3. Participants working on a large flipchart on the floor during a practical exercise
    3

    Co-create

Options designed with stakeholders in the room, not written for them.

  4. Workshop table covered with prototyping materials and participant sketches
    4

    Prototype

Fast, low-cost versions of the service, policy or product to learn from.

  5. Small group testing a physical structure they built during a validation exercise
    5

    Validate

Field testing with users, capturing what works and what must change.

  6. Rows of association members seated at a plenary conference session
    6

    Implement

Handover, coaching and institutional anchoring so results outlive us.

Design thinking

Human-centred design applied to enterprise, policy and community problems

We frame the problem with the people who live it, generate options fast, and test them before anyone commits budget. The result is strategy that survives contact with reality.

Build & test

Physical prototypes reveal what slides never do.

Capture & synthesise

Insight recorded so decisions are owned by the whole group.

Team building

Teams that can actually deliver the strategy

Experiential exercises that build the collaboration muscles a plan depends on.

Sequencing and shared accountability

The domino challenge forces teams to plan, brief and execute together — one misplaced piece and the chain fails. It surfaces coordination habits within minutes.

Outdoor field activity with participants running a practical team exercise

Trust under structural pressure

Bridge building splits a team across sub-groups that must integrate their work. It is the clearest demonstration of interface risk we know.

Taking the work to real users

Teams present their build to community members and absorb unfiltered feedback — the fastest route to humility and better design.

Collaboration

Teams practise working across functions before the stakes are real.

Trust

Structured exercises that build psychological safety and candour.

Leadership

Rotating roles reveal decision-making habits under pressure.

Systems Thinking

Participants see how one decision ripples through the whole system.

Communication

Clear briefing, listening and feedback loops rehearsed in the room.

Community participation

Inclusive processes, documented in the field

Public participation sessions, stakeholder circles and focus groups across Ghanaian districts.
